Realign is a mental health helper app with tools such as breathing exercises and an AI/KI chat. We built Realign to be privacy-first. We do not operate a backend server for storing your in-app content. In general, your content stays on your device, except when you use features that require third-party services (explained below).

1. Summary (plain language)

  • No accounts and no backend database for your journal/chat history or tool data.
  • Your app content is stored locally on your device (and can be deleted with the reset button).
  • AI/KI chat (Option 2): your messages are sent to an AI provider to generate responses (we don’t store them on our servers).
  • Subscriptions: we use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases/subscriptions; RevenueCat processes purchase-related data.
  • We do not sell your personal information and we do not run interest-based advertising.

2. Information you create in the app

Depending on what you use, Realign may store locally on your device:

  • AI/KI chat conversations (chat messages and AI responses)
  • Breathing tool preferences, routines, and app settings
  • Any notes, check-ins, or similar content (if available in the app)
Where it’s stored: On your device only (local app storage). We do not receive or store this content on our own servers.

3. AI/KI chat

When you use AI/KI chat, the text you type (and any context the app includes to answer) is sent from your device to a third-party AI service provider to generate a response.

  • We do not store your chat content on our servers (we don’t have a backend for it).
  • The AI provider receives and processes the content you send to return responses.
  • The AI provider’s handling of data is governed by their privacy policy and terms.

Tip: Avoid sharing highly sensitive personal data in AI chat (e.g., full names, addresses, medical record numbers).

4. Subscriptions & payments (RevenueCat)

Realign uses RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and purchase entitlements. Purchase-related information is processed by RevenueCat and the relevant app store platform (Apple App Store / Google Play).

What RevenueCat may process:

  • Purchase/transaction and subscription status (e.g., active/expired)
  • Device/app identifiers used to attribute purchases (e.g., app-specific user ID)
  • Diagnostic and technical data (e.g., IP address, timestamps)

What we receive: Only the status needed to unlock premium features. We do not store your mental health content.

5. Device permissions

Realign may request access to certain device features only when needed:

  • Notifications (optional): reminders for breathing, routines, or check-ins
  • Any other permissions will be requested only if a feature needs them.

6. How we use information

Because Realign stores most data on-device, we use information primarily to:

  • Provide and personalize app features
  • Enable subscription features (via RevenueCat)
  • Maintain app functionality

We do not use your data to:

  • Sell it
  • Build advertising profiles
  • Track you across other apps or websites for advertising

7. Data retention & deletion

On-device content: Stays on your device until you delete it.

Reset button: Realign includes a Reset option in Settings that deletes locally stored app data (chat history, preferences) from your device.

Note: Uninstalling the app generally removes local data. Resetting does not cancel subscriptions (manage these in your App Store settings).

8. Sharing of information

We do not share your mental health content (as we don’t collect it). We may share limited info only:

  • With service providers (AI provider, RevenueCat)
  • For legal reasons if required by law
  • To protect safety and security

9. Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect the app and its local storage. However, no method of storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your device secure (passcode/biometrics).

10. Children’s privacy

Realign is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. International users

If you are in the EEA/UK, processing typically occurs on your device or by third parties (AI provider, RevenueCat) to provide their services, based on service fulfillment, legitimate interests, or consent.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. The “Effective date” will reflect the latest version. Significant changes will be notified in the app.
